Christmas Stocking!

Here's my first set of 8 cards. Sorry, my picture taking skills need some brushing up! I usually do 1 card at a time, but I finally got the bright idea that its better to cut several of one kind than to do 1 card, really like it, and then decide I want to do more. Oh, and Jordan decided to be part of the picture. He just had a piece of toast with jelly. Can you tell?

Stocking - Christmas Cheer 5 inches. Outlined with gold paint pen
Corners - Jasmine 2 1/4 inches
Red stickles on the berries
MS holly leaf stamp on the green top of stocking
fiskars punch on side of card

Santa's sleigh

This was an easy and quick card to make. I used the sleigh from PDDU and made some flourishes with a gold paint pen. The gifts were cut from BB and I stickled them. I put the ribbon on rather easily using glue dots. That was surprising to me because I really didn't expect it to stick.

Seasons Greetings!

This is a simple card, but it is really beautiful in person. I used my new glitter heat embossing powder to create the design on the background. The snowflake was cut from AE and the jeweled snowflakes are stickers I picked up at M's. The sentiment is from Beyond Birthdays, I think:)

PEACE

I love this card! Maybe I should send it to myself. *giggles* Anyway, the dove and leaf are from Christmas Cheer and I think I cut them at 2". The side leaves are from CC also, but I enlarged and welded them in DS. I love the glittery paper and I outlined it with a gold paint pen to add some umph:) The bow turned out to be a fabulous addition. I just love the whole thing!!! There's still a sentiment that I have to add on the inside. Not sure what it will say yet. I think I'll go post on Cricut now.

Today I only made

one card. Its so frustrating to have the time to work on these cards only to find my creativity is not flowing so well! Here is the card I made today. I used glue dots to attach the ribbon. The snowflakes behind the wreath are stamped and embossed (not that you can tell from the picture) and the wreath is propped up. The white on the wreath is glitter paper and the pearls are so pretty next to it. This is a very simple card, but I think its quietly elegant too.

Yeah for more Christmas cards!

And here we go again... I've been busy! The one I really like of this bunch is the last pictured because I used my new eyelet tool and then laced ribbon through and tied it on the inside of the card. It makes it quaint and I like that. Just love that Christmas Cheer cartridge! I go a little nuts with glitter, and I even added bells on one card. How I love Christmas!

A start...

I began making my Christmas cards!!! I have 3 done, 1 in progress and many more to go. Here are the 3 I have finished. The 'Our home to Yours' card was inspired by Susan Edwards design which I saw on Bitten By the Bug. I can't express how helpful it is to have access to so many talented and creative women. There is a lot of 3-d to these cards, but with a picture it is really difficult to show which pieces are raised. If only pictures really did justice! I have added some close ups to try and show some more detail. I used chalk paint to color and detail some pieces, mostly on the nativity card.

Paper Dolls, I love them!

I know, its been a while! I just made a few dolls for a friend of mine who works at a hospital and decorates a board themed for each month. I made leaves, pumpkins and dolls that are dressed up in Halloween costumes. I love how they turned out! I had made the dolls themselves a couple of months ago, so it took just about an hour to make the costumes and put it all together. Obviously, the ghost was the easiest!:)

Unpacking

Wow, I'm behind! Recently we moved (again) and needless to say, I hate moving! My cricut is still packed and may stay that way for a while. I have to get this house in order and functioning before I can concentrate on much else. Grant me some patience and I'll have this up and running again soon.

Angel Layout

Yep, another night that I can't sleep. At least I'm productive when the insomnia hits! So here's another page for my baby girl's album. I was inspired by a layout by Syd_Vicious on the Cricut message boards. Her layout is fabulous, but I tried to get a little close to fabulous:) I don't have the storybook font (which I want so badly!) so I just welded the Jasmine font with swirls from AE and made my own frilly font for the word 'Angel'. I think it looks nice. Add some blingy butterflies and its done! My baby girl really is an angel. She's the light in my heart. How is it that 9 years later she still melts my heart and makes me smile? She's just a God-given gift.

Coffee!

Okay, so I just finished the last of the cards I plan to send off for the charity fundraiser. Here it is. I made a set of 4 identical cards, with a simple design inside and no saying. I figure it is a 'many occasion' card that way.

A friend...

I love this hobby of mine. I've found a way to reach out to others, and its a way that comes right from my heart. Last night I made a card for someone who recently received a frightening medical diagnosis. This is one of those situations where I felt so much concern but I had no way to express it. I sat down last night and worked on a card that took me 2 hours to make. (I'm sure most of you more experienced scrappers could have whipped it out in a quarter of the time!) I felt like I was sending something from my heart and in the end, I felt better. I will pray for this person and send my love from far away, but this is as close as I can get to actually DOING something to help. My heart truly hurts for her. So at the end of reading this, please say a quick prayer for healing and a quick recovery for my friend. Thanks so much!

More cards

Okay, I had so much fun with the card below that I had to make more. I'm sending these to a lady from the cricut message board who posted that she is need of donated hand-made cards for a charity fundraiser. Here are my cards!

Embossing

I made my first embossing project today! Its a very simple card. I used an ivory cardstock plain card. I then glued on a pretty green paper for a background. I used an ivory paper and rounded the corners then stamped on a decorative tree, sprinkled the embossing powder and heated. Now it looks wet and has a raised gloss which is so cool. The pictures don't do it justice. I also stamped a border to the ivory center. I used a thank you stamp and green ink and cut it out. I secured it with 3 dimensional tape and voila! I think it has a very nice vintage look. Its much easier than I had expected.

Christian!

Yea for more locker talk layouts! I love this cartridge. I just made Christian's page for his spring school picture. He's so adorable... and I'm so biased:) Everything here is from the LT cartridge and I made many mistakes. But it's all good! I love the way this layout turned out.

Still learning!

Locker Talk cartridge came in! So I started playing with it yesterday and boy did I mess up. I began with the school house and I used a double sided brown paper. When I peeled the cut school house buildings off of the mat, I accidently reversed them so I used the wrong sides. I couldn't figure out why they weren't fitting on the background so I made cuts and adjustments as needed. DUH! Turn them over and they would work, but nope, I cut. So my school house doesn't cover the entire expanse of green and it looks like there is grass growing between the building when it should be just one building. Oh well. Practice and learn. The picture is of my nephew Andrew. He lives in Texas and we miss him terribly!

Baby Stina

This month I've been scrapping like crazy, but not taking pics like I should. Here are some pictures of my daughter's baby album. She's 9 now, but the album I made when she was an infant was in desperate need of help. Not only were my attempts at scrapping lame way back then, but the album itself was overloaded and falling apart. The pictures above are done with my Cricut. I used Happily Ever After for the fairies and Jasmine for the words on the first picture. The second was done with Happily Ever After. I think the third was mostly Accent Essentials, although I may be wrong and its Plantin Schoolbook. Not sure. The final layout was done with Jasmine font and I can't remember what the flowers are from. Possibly A Garden of Words, but its been a month since I scrapped these layouts. I have 14 cartridges now, so keeping them all straight in my head is IMPOSSIBLE! :) Let me know what you think. Oh, and the pictures were taken by my 9 year old so they are a bit crooked. She's such a wonderful helper though, so she'll probably be taking many more for me.

Catching up

Oh my goodness, its almost 7am and I've been up for a few hours. I'm trying to get my digital to work so I can post my latest LOs. I'm waiting for pics from Jacob so I can scrap the older kids in Disneyland. They spent so much time off on their own that I'm sorely lacking in pics of them;( They preferred not to ride the baby rides with the younger 3! Can't blame them. So just updating that I'm working on posting a few more. I bought the paper dolls cartridge and Stina and I will be working like crazy to finish a few today. Its so much fun!

Disney layouts

I'm almost done! Here are some samples from my Disney layouts. I take so many pictures that at times its hard to know when to stop scrapping and call it good. I know the pics are small, but I didn't want to overwhelm my first post with so many huge pictures. If you want to see one in a larger size, let me know and I'll email you. All were done with Cricut. The only one with embellishments not from my Cricut is the Pirate layout. I used some stickers I've had for ages. Let me know what you think!
